Ya-Chieh Hsu

Ya-Chieh Hsu is the Alvin and Esta Star Associate Professor of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University. She is also a principal faculty member at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and an associate member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. She obtained her B.Sc in Life Science from National Tsing-Hua University in Taiwan. She completed her PhD in Developmental Biology at Baylor College of Medicine with Kwang-Wook Choi, and conducted her postdoctoral studies with Elaine Fuchs at The Rockefeller University. The Hsu lab focuses on the cell-cell interactions in the skin, as well as how systemic changes influence these cell-cell interactions. She is a recipient of several awards, including K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award, the Smith Family Award for Excellence in Biomedical Research, the Pew Scholar, Basil O’Connor Starter Scholar Award, and Smith Family Foundation—Odyssey Award.
